About the Program
The Virginia Municipal Clerks Association 36th Annual Certified Municipal Clerk Institute and Master Municipal Academy is a dynamic continuing education program for municipal and deputy clerks. Whether you are seeking a certification or want to improve your skills and effectiveness, this program will provide a forum for achieving your goals.
New for this Year’s Program!
In an effort to “go green” the VMCA Education and Professional Development Committee and the Institute Director are giving you the opportunity to choose the Institute and Academy materials that you need in hard copy. Handout and presentations are available below and may be downloaded to your personal computer or you may print them and bring them with you for the sessions you attend. The following materials are relevant to both programs and/or informational, and the session materials are listed below under each day and topic. Please print or download the materials you need for the programs because only the agenda, evaluation forms, session logs and the directory of participants will be provided in hard copy.
Joint Institute/Academy Pre-Conference Program (October 8, 2013)
The Joint Institute/Academy Pre-Conference Program is a one day educational program covering topics relevant to all members of the Virginia Municipal Clerks Association. The program content has been designed to meet certification points requirements and can be used toward the Certified Municipal Clerk or Master Municipal Clerk designation.

Certified Municipal Clerk Institute and Master Municipal Clerk Academy (October 9 – 11, 2013)
The 36th annual Certified Municipal Clerk and Master Municipal Clerk Academy provides professional development and education for Municipal clerks seeking the CMC and the MMC designation. The 2 1/2 day program will offer two tracks on Wednesday, one for Institute participants and one for Academy participants. Thursday and Friday programs will be combined offering topics relevant to participants seeking either designation. Click here to view a full program agenda.
